This old fashioned beer bread is hearty with a great buttery, crispy crust. Beer bread has a yeasty, malty flavor with just a touch of sweetness and is perfectly moist and dense. A great compliment to soup, stew, chili, dips and sandwiches.
INSTRUCTIONS: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease 9x5” baking pan.
1. In a bowl, mix contents of this package with 1 ½ cups (12oz) of beer and mix until moistened. Pour into baking pan and level top. Add 2-4 tbs of melted butter on top.
2. Bake approximately 50 minutes. Test with a toothpick until it comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
Beer may be substituted with a light colored soda (for example 7UP or Sprite)
OPTIONS: Add shredded cheese, diced peppers, olives, sun-dried tomatoes or herbs.
